The 2nd corps said that a few months ago the Russians broke into Kupyansk to a depth of up to 6 km from the Oskil River, as a result of which the situation in the city and surrounding villages became critical.

According to the corps, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi created the “Charter” search and strike group in September, consisting of units of the 13th “Charter” operational brigade, 475th assault regiment “Code 9.2”, units of the 92nd assault brigade, units of the Foreign Legion of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense, and the 144th mechanized brigade, 127th OVMBR and other units.

The tactical group “Kupyansk” operated and continues to operate directly in the city itself, which fights with the Russians in the settlement.

In October-November, units of the “Charter” anti-aircraft missile defense system defeated several battalions and assault units from three regiments of the 68th motorized rifle division and the 27th motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, which operated with the support of the regiment of unmanned troops and UAV units “Rubikon” and “Doomsday”.

In a conversation with UP, the commander of the 2nd “Charter” corps, which was entrusted with the planning and command of the operation, said that in the period from September to the present time, the number of verified Russians killed is more than a thousand people, and currently there are no more than 200 Russians in the city itself.

Details: According to the corps, all exits from the gas pipe, which they used to enter Kupyansk, were taken under fire control. All the support of the enemy is carried out exclusively by drones by air, but the task was complicated by the fact that there are still up to 500 local residents in the city, whom the Russians use as “human shields”.

Details: According to the corps, during the period from September 22 to December 12, units that are part of the “Chartiya” PUU destroyed 1,027 Russian servicemen, whose elimination was confirmed by objective control data, 291 were wounded, and 13 occupiers were captured.

“The fighting in the center of the city still continues, but later the Ukrainian Kupyansk will be completely liberated.
