The Defense Forces of Ukraine denied the statements of the occupation administration about the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a village in the Kherson region

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces denied the statements of Volodymyr Sald, the head of the occupation administration of the Kherson region, that the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly attacked a cafe and a hotel in the occupied village of Khorly on the Black Sea coast on the night of January 1.

“Information about the defeats carried out by the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the night of January 1, 2026, was published on the official pages of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in social networks. The Defense Forces of Ukraine adhere to the norms of International Humanitarian Law and strike exclusively at the military targets of the enemy, objects of the fuel and energy complex of the Russian Federation and other legitimate targets, with the aim of reducing the military potential of the aggressor country,” said the spokesman of the General Staff Dmytro Lykhova in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

He also noted that Russian propaganda and the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation repeatedly resorted to disinformation and fake statements, in particular to influence Ukraine’s international partners and the course of peace negotiations.

Saldo said earlier today that 24 people were allegedly killed as a result of the strike. The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on the article about the terrorist attack.

The head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation, former speaker of the Mariupol City Council, Petro Andryushchenko, said that data from the Ministry of Defense of Russia do not confirm the statement about the drone attack on the occupied Kherson Region on New Year’s Eve:

“Returning to the version of the Russians, once again the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in its official position contradicts the version of the occupation administration of the Kherson region.
