According to the DBR, he is charged with inaction of military power in the conditions of martial law. The cases of criminal proceedings were opened and his defenders opened for familiarization, after which the indictment will be sent to court, added to the bureau.
“Investigation found that the eccount did not respond to the facts of inhumane treatment and torture to him. Knowing that the platoon commander subordinate to him from February to July 2024 exceeded his powers and mocked the subordinate soldiers, did not initiate the issue of bringing the officer to justice, ”the Attorney General’s office noted.
The OGP reported that the commander of the 211st Ponton-Bridge Brigade is now in custody. There are no comments on Oleg Berezhnyuk about the case.
In December 2024, the publication “Ukrainian Truth” published information about the probable “abuse of military, extortion of money and nepotism” in the 211st Pontoon-brick brigade of the Armed Forces forces. The article, among other things, refers to Vladislav Pastukh – commander of one of the platoons in the first brigade battalion. According to the sources of the UP, he demanded military funds and mocked them during business trips for the construction of fortifications in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk. He did not comment on these statements publicly.
- The brigade commander was reported on December 17 of the suspicion of abusing office. On December 19, the court took him into custody with the right to introduce UAH 908,400. But the next day, the commander of the 211th Ponton-Brigade of Oleg Berezhnyuk was released from custody on bail.
- On December 29, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation detained and reported the suspicion of the commander of the 211st Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Berezhnyuk that he “did not respond to the facts of bullying and torture against him.”
- The next day, the court chose him a pre -trial detention measure for two months with the possibility of making more than UAH 12 million of pledge.
