The court restricted Poroshenko’s term of familiarization with the “coal case”: has time by April 15

At the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, the court restricted the fifth President of Ukraine, the People’s Deputy Petrov Poroshenko Terms of acquaintance with the case on suspicion of committing state betrayal and assisting the activities of terrorist organizations.

Details: According to the decision of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv, the term for familiarization with the materials of the pre -trial investigation was set by April 15, 2025.

The DBR reminds that they have completed the investigation of criminal proceedings on the organization of a criminal scheme for the supply of coal from temporarily occupied territories and the promotion of terrorist organizations “LNR” and “DNR” by a group of citizens of Ukraine totaling about 1.5 billion hryvnias on September 2, 2022.

At the same time, the case file (the case has more than 250 volumes -UPs) was transferred to the defense party and the suspect. However, suspects, in particular the incumbent MP, abuse their procedural rights and do not appear to familiarize with the materials of the proceedings, the bureau stressed.

That preceded: Investigators of the DBR filed with the court to impose a suspected current and former people’s deputies and a topless of the coal sphere, as well as their defenders for familiarization with the materials of the pre -trial investigation.

Prehistory:

• In 2021, Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova stated that the Presidential Administration “could play a key role” in the organization of coal supplies from ORDLO during the Presidential Administration. A similar statement was made by the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov.
• On November 12, in this case, investigators of the DBR reported suspicion of excendant of energy, Volodymyr Demchyshyn. He was then summoned for questioning.
• On October 8, Victor Medvedchuk was informed about suspicion of this case.
• On September 24, the court arrested businessman Sergei Kuzyar as a suspect in assisting terrorists in the supply of coal.
• Before the New Year’s holidays, Poroshenko was suspected of treason. The fifth President of Ukraine is suspected that he, allegedly, acting on a prior conspiracy by a group of persons, in particular among representatives of the Supreme Reds of the Russian Federation, contributed to the activity of terrorist organizations “LNR” and “DNR”.
• The persons involved in the purchase of public funds in the ORDLO of coal. According to the investigation, by their actions they put the energy sphere of Ukraine depending on the Russian Federation and terrorist organizations.
