The court of the Russian Federation sentenced a native of Melitopol to 5.5 years in prison for commenting on the arson of Russian military facilities

In Russia’s Rostov-on-Don, the Southern District Military Court sentenced 49-year-old Melitopol native Oksana Pavlenko to five and a half years in a general regime colony in the case of “justifying terrorism”, Mediazona reports with reference to the court’s press service.

According to the indictment, on May 25, 2024, Pavlenko, while on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region, left a comment that “calls for the massive burning of Russian military facilities and the destruction of Russian citizens.”

The court did not specify where exactly the comment was published.

The criminal case against Pavlenko came to court in August 2024. In November, the Ukrainian woman’s name appeared in the “register of extremists and terrorists” of Rosfinmonitoring.
