The Court of Appeal was reported that the prosecutor’s appeals and parties to the VAKS sentence dated June 14, 2023, which Chaus was found guilty of a request to provide an undue benefit of $ 100,000 and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
“Having heard the arguments of the parties, the court of appeal partially supported the position of the defense party and the prosecution, including the prosecutor’s arguments in the absence of provocation by law enforcement agencies. APSCS canceled the WAKS sentence and approved a new one, which was found to be guilty of a criminal offense under Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving an undue benefit in the amount of $ 150 thousand), and a sentence of 8 years of imprisonment was imposed with a deprivation of the right to occupy positions in a judicial branch for a period of 3 years, with confiscation of property, ”the statement reads.
The SAP has specified that the sentence has entered into force from the moment of proclamation and may be appealed in cassation to the Supreme Court for three months.

In February 2017, he was detained in Moldova. Detectives of the National Bureau have filed a request for extradition of excesses to Ukraine. However, in April 2021, information about Chaus’s abduction appeared (criminal proceedings were investigated in the SBU).
The place of judgment was unknown until July 2021, when the official was found in one of the villages of Vinnytsia region.
On August 3, 2021, NABU detectives detained Chaus at Theophania Hospital.
In June 2023, the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court found the former judge of the Dniprovsky District Court of Kyiv Mykola Chaus to be guilty of bribery and condemned him to 10 years of confiscation of property.
