Details: The lawyer confirmed that Kolomoiskyi will remain in custody and noted that the decision was made “outside the validity period of the decision.”

What happened before:
- In September 2023, NABU announced to the former ultimate beneficial owner of PrivatBank, Ihor Kolomoisky, and five members of the group organized by him, that they were suspected of embezzling the bank’s funds in the amount of more than 9.2 billion hryvnias.
- On September 23, 2025, the prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office sent an indictment to the court against Kolomoiskyi, a former shareholder of Privatbank, as well as the former manager of the capital branch of this bank. Materials related to five more members of the group are separated into separate criminal proceedings.
- On September 2, 2023, the Bureau of Economic Security and the Security Service of Ukraine declared Kolomoisky a suspect under Articles 190 (fraud) and Art. 209 (legalization (laundering) of property obtained by crime) of the Criminal Code.
- Kolomoisky is accused of legalizing more than half a billion hryvnias during 2013-2020 by taking them abroad using the infrastructure of controlled banking institutions.
