Details: According to “Ukrainian Pravda” the suspects are Oleksandr Agoev and Bohdan Rynzhukwho, according to the mass media, is the stepson of Olesya Ilashchuk, who was appointed at the end of 2022 as the ambassador of Ukraine to Bulgaria (indicated in her declaration – ed.).

According to the police, a complaint about the disappearance of a citizen of Ukraine in Vienna was received by the district police department in the Kharkiv region on November 26, 2025. Criminal proceedings were initiated in the case of a missing citizen. Subsequently, police investigators and operatives received information from the Austrian side about the discovery of a burnt car in Vienna, in the interior of which was the body of an unidentified person. Austrian experts established a coincidence between the missing 21-year-old citizen of Ukraine and the body found in the vehicle.

It was preliminarily established that the attackers inflicted physical injuries on a resident of the city of Kharkiv and forced him to give them access to an electronic wallet with cryptocurrency, threatening to kill him. After that, the perpetrators placed the victim in the trunk of their own Mercedes-Benz car and set it on fire.

In the course of international cooperation through the operational data exchange system, the Austrian law enforcement officers, through the Bureau of Liaison Officers for Ukraine in Europe, provided the police with information about two citizens of Ukraine who may be involved in the crime.

It is known that both accomplices carefully prepared for the crime – they looked for a place and bought gasoline in advance with cash at one of the gas stations. After committing the murder, according to the State Border Service of Ukraine, on November 26, they crossed the state border and entered the territory of Ukraine.

As a result of operational measures, the National Police officers established the whereabouts of both citizens and they were detained in the city of Odesa.

During the search by the police investigators as part of the criminal proceedings, in the hotel room where they stayed, as well as in the apartment and the vehicle, things and items that could be of evidentiary value were seized: money in foreign and national currency, clothes, phones, etc. Everything has been submitted for expert research.

On December 16, the crime was reclassified by Ukrainian investigators under Part 2 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The extras were informed about the suspicions. On December 18, the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv ordered preventive measures in the form of detention for both defendants.
