The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the driver and passenger of the BMW, who are suspected of having committed a road accident near Lviv on December 15, as a result of which 7 people died and 3 more were injured.

Literally: “On December 16, the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention. Police investigators informed the driver that he was suspected of committing a crime under part 4 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons who drive vehicles while impaired “infringement” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he faces up to twelve years in prison.
Details: The law enforcement officers also reported suspicion to a 31-year-old BMW passenger who ran away with the driver without providing assistance to the victims. He faces up to five years in prison.
Prehistory:
- On December 15, at 5:30 a.m. on the highway “Ternopil — Lviv — Rava-Ruska” near the village of Chyzhikiv, Lviv district, an accident involving three vehicles occurred, in which seven people were killed and three others were injured.
- According to law enforcement officers, the BMW driver, a 23-year-old resident of the Lviv district, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a DAF truck, after which the tractor collided with a Mercedes Sprinter minibus in an uncontrolled state.
- The driver of the car left the vehicle and fled the scene, he was later arrested. It has been previously established that he is in a state of alcohol intoxication, an examination has been ordered
