The apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada launched an investigation into the parliament’s chief scientific consultant, Yana Salmina, who, according to the “Schemes” investigation, received Russian money and visited Moscow.

What preceded:

• According to the “Schemes” investigation, Salmina, who is currently in the civil service in the Verkhovna Rada, for at least five years until 2016 implemented a number of projects for the “protection of the Russian minority in Ukraine” with money from a Russian state organization created in the Kremlin.
• Journalists also established that in 2016, three years before being appointed to the position, Salmina traveled to Moscow twice.
• Also, in the “Schemes” investigation, in particular, it is said that the civil servant currently lives in the apartment of her father Oleg Salmin, a Russian citizen who himself lives in the suburbs of Moscow, works for the Russian military-industrial complex and receives a salary at the research institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
