At the parliamentary level, consultations with European colleagues began to replace American assistance.
The Committee has expressed decisive support for continuing cooperation between Ukraine and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
As stated in the Committee’s statement, programs that are implemented and functioning with USAID assistance are important for strengthening democratic institutions, the development of independent media and civil society in Ukraine. Educational, scientific, media, cultural projects and other socially significant initiatives are successfully implemented in many countries with USAID support.
At the same time, neither the American people nor the US government have ever made advertising or public noise, stressed in the Parliamentary Committee.
“Unfortunately, the scale of the problems faced by Ukraine and dozens of other countries in connection with the termination time to prepare for such sharp changes, ” – the statement reads.

The committee stated that while the audit continues, Ukraine should take prompt measures to avoid destabilization of key processes in the country, as well as to provide its actions in this direction in this direction.
According to the Committee, the parliamentary level has already begun consultations with European colleagues on the possible replacement of American assistance, in particular, until in Washington final decisions are made in Washington. However, through a pause further normalization of processes can occur in three, four, five, or even six months.

In addition, grants have become a support for many domestic media, since the advertising market, which “survived” the media has not yet been revived after a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
The statement states that the suspension of funding occurs in the context of Russia’s repels, in particular information. This is a time when every vote is important and cultural diplomacy and truthful information are inseparable components of Ukraine’s independence.
It is also emphasized that in conditions of limited state funding, grant assistance is sometimes not the only option for the functioning of projects in the field of culture and media.
According to the Committee, with USAID assistance, projects aimed at psychological assistance to children and families with children who are in difficult life circumstances through armed aggression against Ukraine are embodied. Supporting the educational process has allowed thousands of children to continue their education.

Therefore, we emphasize the need to preserve these projects to ensure further progress in the country’s development,” the statement reads.
The Committee hopes that together with the government and colleagues from those sectors supported by American assistance, some decisions will be found for the closest, most difficult, times.
As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed government officials to report on those USAID USAID programs that are currently suspended for 90 days.
