Literally: “Parliament adopted as a whole #11410 on the deprivation of state awards of traitors of Ukraine.”
Details: According to him, 283 People’s Deputies voted “for”. The law introduces a new additional penalty in the Criminal Code – deprivation of state awards.
“The Criminal Code of Ukraine provides that persons found guilty of committing a serious or particularly serious crime, a criminal offense against the foundations of national security of Ukraine, against peace, human security and the international legal order, may be subject to additional punishment by the court, such as deprivation of state awards of Ukraine.
In the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, determine that the court, passing the sentence, must decide, among other things, whether there are grounds for depriving the accused of a state award of Ukraine,” the explanatory note to the draft law states.
Prehistory:
- On August 20, the Verkhovna Rada adopted this draft law in the first reading.
- Before that, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that it is necessary to deprive “traitors who fled to Russia after February 24” and collaborators of any ranks and awards in Ukraine.
