“Extraordinary meeting will be held at 13:00 in videoconference mode”, – WRITE: www.radiosvoboda.org
According to the Committee’s message, an extraordinary meeting will be held at 13:00 in videoconference mode.
It is noted that representatives of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption, as well as the authors of the draftshots are invited to participate in the meeting.
On July 22, the Verkhovna Rada supported the Law No. 12414, which, as it was reported, limits the independence of NABU and SAP. After that, NABU Chairman Semen Krivonos urged the President of Ukraine to veto the bill, but Zelensky signed him the same day.
These legislative changes have provoked protests in Ukraine, as well as concern from Western partners.
Subsequently, President Zelensky introduced a new bill to the Council “Strengthening the powers of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.”
The National Anti -Corruption Bureau positively evaluated the Bill No. 13533, submitted by the President. According to the assessment of anti -corruption bodies, it restores all the procedural powers and guarantees of independence of NABU and the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
