From this week at the FC Shakhtar Academy, the first training began, the grand opening was the first week of the new academic year.
Already from the start, 5 groups have been launched, covering children from 5 to 12 years. There are few girls, so they are still engaged in boys, although it is a separate promising direction, as well as working with older groups:

“There are a lot of applications now from the age of 12, who have already been engaged in football in Ukraine, and when they came here, they did not have the opportunity to continue their classes, someone through the language barrier, someone because of a difficult family situation, although often they had the skills better than local peers. We want to give you a second chance of trainer. I do not exclude that later children of other nationalities will come to us, at least that’s what we had dancing, ” Oksana continues.
In the spring of 2022, after the forced relocation to Berlin, she created a dance children’s studio. Prior to a full-scale invasion of her choreographer her dance school in Odessa, her experience also gave the result in Berlin. During the year, the team grew to more than 120 students. Initially, these were exclusively Ukrainian girls, or children from mixed families, and later the German, which became a precedent. Two girls from her dance studio were invited and participated in the closing of the football Euro 2024 at the Olympiat.
“When children are involved in some global event, the impressions and emotions are not equal to anything, we went to Bonn, there was already Shakhtar Academy, her pupils were at the matches of the main team in the European Cups, bringing players to the field. It is a memory for decades.
However, even participating in the Champions League or the League of Conferences was the main motivation to open our football school under the auspices of the Miners. Shakhtar has existed for a few years far from his hometown, but in Europe, everyone also remembers that it is a club from Ukrainian Donetsk and our school will also remind us that we do not select it. “
Children’s training is a place of meeting parents, there are many acquaintances in Ukraine in Ukraine, there are those who have already become in Germany.

“The location of the Academy is very convenient for us, there are only 4 stations with S-Bana, when I heard that there would be Ukrainian-language trainers, I did not even hesitate, we plan to return to Ukraine.”
Logistics is important for children, so the club is looking for opportunities not to be limited to one training location in the southwestern part of the city, where many Ukrainian children will simply not be able to get.
Therefore, the experience of sports clubs of other ethnic communities is interesting and useful for the development of the project:
“When it became known in the summer that Shakhtar’s main team was headed by Arda Turan, I realized that it was another plus. For local Turks, he is also a football icon and if he was in Berlin, then the first place where he would come, our football school will be.
