At the same time, according to the members of the election commission, the terms of the election process should be left unchanged – 90 days for the elections of the president of Ukraine and 60 days for the elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine.
Literally: “The preparatory period is needed, in particular, to assess the possibility of holding elections in certain territories, to analyze the readiness of the electoral infrastructure taking into account the consequences of the war, to conduct an analysis and cost calculations by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the creation of additional foreign polling stations, to ensure the interaction of registers in order to clarify information about voters, to implement other measures of the CEC.”
Details: The commission also proposes to continue the liberalization of procedures for changing the election address and polling place.
In addition, the CEC recommends enshrining at the legislative level the ban on voting in Ukrainian elections in Russia and Belarus. Ukrainian voters should vote in neighboring safe states.
Separately, the commission emphasized the need to provide effective tools for countering foreign interference and the development of security protocols during the elections.
We will remind: According to a poll conducted in December, if the current ambassador of Ukraine to Britain, General Valery Zaluzhnyi, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyi had participated in the presidential elections, they would both have passed the second round. In the second round, Zaluzhny has a clear advantage with a result of 64% against Zelenskyi’s 36%.
