The tragedy happened on the set of the Hollywood western “Rust” on October 21, 2021. According to the plot, the performer of the main role, Alec Baldwin, was supposed to shoot a gun. He got a gun from the film gunsmith, pointed it at the camera and fired. It turned out that the cartridges in the barrel were live ammunition. The bullet hit camera operator Halyna Hutchins, the wound turned out to be fatal. Director Joel Souz was also injured and was hospitalized.
