The captive soldier of the Russian Federation is accused of execution of two civilians – Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office submitted to the court an indictment against the Sagittarius of the 23rd Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on violation of the laws and customs of war combined with a premeditated murder committed by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code).

“The pre-trial investigation found that the 21-year-old accused with the call sign” was involved in hostilities against Ukrainian defenders in Kupyansk region. In October 2024, he was stationed in the village of Petropavlivka, where together with other Russian military illegally detained three civilian men who came to the settlement to save the surviving property. During several days, civilians were subjected to interrogations, but one of them managed to escape. On October 8, 2024, the person involved in the radio was ordered from his direct commander with the call sign “Count”, whose person is currently established, to change the position. The same commander ordered to kill detained men – the accused shot them from a machine gun, ”the prosecutor’s office said.

According to these data, the accused was captured on the same day “during the storming of the building where the occupiers were stationed.”

Prosecutors are trying to identify persons of other Russian military involved in the accused actions.

The pre -trial investigation in this case was the management of the SBU in Kharkiv region.
