“Contributions to the Energy Support Fund are directed to the purchase of equipment necessary for the restoration of energy objects after enemy attacks, and to support the stable operation of the power system of Ukraine,” – said the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.
Part of the new contribution of Canada will be aimed at maintaining energy supply of critically important social infrastructure in the health sector due to the development of solar generation systems, the ministry told.
The Energy Support Fund of Ukraine was established in April 2022 at a joint initiative of Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko and the European Commissioner for Energy Simson at the Energy Community Secretariat.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the announced contributions of partners to the Fund are more than 1 billion euros. Among the donors of the Foundation are the public and private sector of more than 30 countries, including EU member states, the United Kingdom and the US, international and regional organizations.
On March 12, it became known that the Secretariat of the Energy Community received an official message from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on the termination of a grant agreement with the Ukraine Energy Support Fund for the amount of $ 75 million.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Russia has inflicted more than 30 massive strokes in the objects of energy infrastructure of Ukraine in three years of a full -scale invasion of three years.
