The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the plan of measures for the implementation of the demographic development strategy of Ukraine until 2040, which includes, in particular, the promotion of the return of Ukrainians from abroad and the creation of conditions for increasing the birth rate.

The Demographic Development Strategy of Ukraine until 2040 is a high-level document designed to overcome the critical demographic threats that Ukraine has faced. The action plan, in turn, defines specific steps. This document is the result of a careful study of international experience and a comprehensive discussion with the involvement of interested government bodies, international partners and the public

It is reported that this is a step to fulfill one of the indicators of the Plan of Ukraine for the implementation of the initiative of the European Union Ukraine Facility, aimed at improving the situation on the labor market and the standard of living of Ukrainians.

Action Plan The Strategy is a set of clear tasks to be implemented by the government, regional and local administrations in cooperation with business, international partners and the public. Joint work on these tasks will allow us to get closer to demographic stability and provide better conditions for the life and development of every Ukrainian

The approved plan covers the key areas of work: Supporting birth rates and families:

• Implementation of complex social and economic measures aimed at creating conditions for increasing the birth rate and developing infrastructure for families with children.
• Reducing premature mortality: expanding access to quality health services and implementing measures to prevent the main causes of premature mortality.
• Attracting migrants and facilitating the return of Ukrainians from abroad: development of programs for the return of citizens, creation of favorable conditions for integration and employment.
• Promoting active longevity: supporting the employment of mature and older people, measures for active and healthy aging, creating a barrier-free environment.
• Building infrastructure for a quality life: providing Ukrainians with affordable and comfortable housing, infrastructure for building a country they want to live in.

Increasing the level of employment of vulnerable groups: retraining programs, employment for persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons and veterans, in particular, the development of flexible forms of employment and stimulation of formal employment.

All involved ministries, departments, and public organizations will work on the implementation of the measures of the Demographic Development Strategy of Ukraine until 2040.
