As of January of this year, Ukrainian law enforcement officers investigated 120,000 war crimes, reported the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin.
According to the Prosecutor General, Ukrainian law enforcement officers have identified and collected evidence for the prosecution of about 500 alleged Russian war criminals, and these cases are also being prepared for consideration in the courts. In particular, there are already 78 judgments of Ukrainian courts.
In July, the International Center for Prosecution for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine, which works under the leadership of the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), began work in The Hague.
As reported by the European Commission, the center will be key to the investigation of the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine and will contribute to the creation of cases for future trials.
