Prehistory:
- In April 2024, Onishchenko was found guilty of the seizure of UAH 740 million during the production and sale of natural gas “Ukrgasvydobuvannya” and sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. The Exnaress himself is not in Ukraine.
- According to NABU, Onishchenko with the associates sold gas enterprises “Ukrgasvydobuvannya” with the help of several of their companies through “pseudoburgi”, which caused the state losses in the amount of more than UAH 1.613 billion.
- On November 29, 2019 Onishchenko was detained and put into custody in Germany. There, according to the decision of the German court, he expected the decision on extradition to Ukraine. The German court denied Onishchenko in extradition.
- He was denied a political shelter and asked to leave the country.
