The affected vessels, the Composer Rachmaninov and the Askar Sarija, are said to be used for military purposes and are under US sanctions for their involvement in the supply of military cargo between Iran and Russia.
According to the message, the operation was carried out jointly with the Black Spark movement. “Representatives of the rebel movement provided detailed information about the route and cargo of the affected ships,” the Ukrainian military said.
