“ EU ambassadors agreed to approve the new, 19th package of European Union sanctions against Russia through a written procedure that will last until 8 a.m. on October 23. Source: European Truth correspondents were informed about this by EU diplomats familiar with the course of the meeting of EU ambassadors (Coreper) in Brussels on October 22. Details: The 19th package of sanctions against Russia will be adopted by written procedure by the morning of Thursday, October 23. “At the Coreper meeting today, the ambassadors reached a consensus regarding the 19th package of sanctions. A decision was made to adopt it by written procedure,” said one of EuroPravda’s interlocutors. “The written procedure will last until 8 in the morning,” another diplomat clarified. As “Europeyska Pravda” reported, the EU’s chief diplomat Kaya Callas previously predicted that the approval of the 19th package of sanctions against Russia could happen on October 23 during the meeting of the European Council. It will be recalled that before the latest approval of the package of sanctions, the position of Slovakia, which demanded that the European Commission take into account its reservations regarding cars with internal combustion engines and regulation of energy prices, was holding back. Austria also raised its objections, demanding that the EU lift sanctions on part of Russian assets in order to compensate Austrian Raiffeisen Bank for the fines imposed by Russia, but to no avail.”, — write: www.pravda.com.ua
