Details: On Thursday, November 6, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili said that Ukraine creates obstacles on Georgia’s path to the EU.

The direct speech of Sybig: “The Georgian side should not take offense at its reflection in the mirror. All the reasons for the bad results on the path of Georgia’s accession to the EU are in Tbilisi, not in Kyiv.”
Details: According to Sybiga, Ukraine wishes the Georgian people only one thing: “that they finally realize their European aspirations, despite the policies of the current government.”
“Georgia is Europe, not Russian Peace,” added the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
What happened before:
- Georgia was the most criticized among other candidate countries in the package of reports on enlargement presented by the European Commission. European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said that currently Georgia is a candidate country for EU membership “in name only”.
- For his part, the EU ambassador to Georgia, Pavel Herchynskyi, said that the report presented by the European Commission should be a sobering signal for the Georgian authorities.
- In response, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the EC report is being used to “voice unsubstantiated negative assessments of Georgia and for further political speculation.”
