Details: The Swedish Foreign Ministry stressed that the updated recommendation takes effect immediately and is valid “until further notice.”

What preceded:
- The situation in Iran remains extremely tense: mass anti-government protests continue in the country, the government blocks communication and commits mass murders civilian population.
- Earlier on January 13, the US State Department called on the Americans to leave Iran immediately. The agency warned compatriots that the evacuation would have to be carried out on their own and not count on the help of the US government.
- US President Donald Trump supported the Iranian people and threatened military intervention if the killings of civilians continued.
- The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, called the events in Iran an “insurrection” and called on the world to help the Iranians overthrow the regime that supplies Russia with weapons.
