Purl assistance is intended to ensure the rapid receipt of US weapons and equipment to Ukraine and to strengthen Ukrainian air defense, in particular thanks to additional missiles for Patriot Air Defense.
Norway will initially allocate 1.5 billion Norwegian crowns on this initiative. Together with Sweden and Dania, Norway funds a package with a total value of about 5 billion Norwegian crowns.
The statement noted that the Netherlands had already financed a package of assistance of similar cost, and in the next period, several such packages would be provided within Purl.
Such help packages may include air defense, ammunition and other important equipment. Each assistance package will be an estimated cost of $ 500 million, and the Supreme Commander of the United NATO Armed Forces in Europe will play a key coordination role in the formation and implementation of these deliveries – including repair and modernization of the equipment already transferred.
For safety reasons, the exact content of each package is not disclosed.
“This summer, we have witnessed how Russia continues its illegal attacks against Ukraine, along the front line and against civilian facilities in cities. We want to facilitate the fast access of Ukraine to the necessary equipment, while strengthening the cooperation of NATO on defense of Ukraine and providing peace on Ukrainian.
