Surveillance of the OGP: NABU stated that they were not obliged to inform prosecutors about this and acted within the framework of the law

The National Anti-corruption Bureau reported that the department is not obliged to inform prosecutors about operational investigative measures in proceedings that do not concern the procedural management of the OGP. The bureau called the actions of the NABU employee who monitored the OGP legal. The martial law regime does not establish prohibitions on documenting within the framework of the investigation of corruption crimes. In accordance with current legislation, employees of the NABU are not obliged to inform the prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General about conducting or participating in operations of an operational-investigative or procedural nature, if it is not related to the procedural management of the Office’s prosecutors Prosecutor General in specific criminal proceedings”. Details: The agency emphasized that the NABU employee acted in strict accordance with the requirements of the law. NABU stressed the inadmissibility of interference in the bureau’s investigation by other bodies.
