Su-30 pilots that fell on Irkutsk, gasped with nitrogen from the onboard oxygen system-Russian investigators

The pilots of the Su-30 fighter, which fell on a dwelling house in the Russian Irkutsk on October 23, 2022, gasped with nitrogen, which came from the onboard oxygen system. This was reported by the head of the Eastern Interregional Investigative Directorate for the Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexei Alexandrov.

“The immediate cause of the aviation disaster was the complete loss of the aircraft crew, caused by hypoxia of pilots through the breathing with nitrogen, which began to come from the onboard oxygen system of the aircraft,” he said “Interfax – Siberia”.

The investigation of the case has not yet been completed. According to the high -ranking official, the accusations of exceeding official powers and negligence were nominated by six employees of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant.

The Su-30 aircraft belonged to this plant. The crew flew to perform the test flight, but soon after take -off fell on a two -storey residential building. Two pilots were killed – Maxim Koneyushin and Victor Kryukov.

RIA Novosti, with reference to a source in emergency services, wrote that pilots could be fainting because of nitrogen residues in oxygen cylinders, which is preparing for flight by land staff.
