“No one mind opening broadcasts in parliament. But my suggestion is to do it right. And we, together with a colleague of Yurchyshyn (Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn) and with the Committee today we have a real vision of how to do so according to the regulations, ”Stefanchuk said in response to a proposal to vote for a direct broadcast of further parliamentary meetings.
He explained that according to the Verkhovna Rada Regulation, it is necessary to amend two resolutions.
Stefanchuk noted that today he put to the vote on the online broadcasting of the plenary session on consideration of the issue of the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, as it was a proposal of the approval council of factions and committees.
“I am open to this (online translations of council meetings – ed.) And the Presidium is open to that, and MPs, let’s do as it should be,” he added.
Today, for the first time since February 2022, the plenary session of parliament was broadcast live on the Verkhovna Rada YouTube channel.
On July 28, more than half a hundred NGOs and media urged the Verkhovna Rada to restore the online broadcasting of their meetings, starting with the next July 31 meeting, which is planned to be considered by the “important bill on the restoration of NABU and SAP independence”.
