State Emergency Service: the fate of 14 people remains unknown in Ternopil, search operations are ongoing

Rescuers continue to work at the site of yesterday’s Russian strike in Ternopil, where a high-rise residential building was destroyed, the State Emergency Service reported.

“According to the updated data, the number of people who have not been contacted has decreased to 14. Six residents, whose fate was previously unknown, reported their whereabouts and are now safe,” the message reads.

According to the State Emergency Service, emergency rescue operations “will continue until the rescuers are convinced that no one remains under the debris.”

Currently, 26 dead civilians are known in Ternopil, including three children, and 18 children are among the dozens injured. According to the State Emergency Service, it was possible to save 46 people, including seven children.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of November 19, the forces of the Russian Federation launched a combined attack on the objects of critical infrastructure of Ukraine using 476 attack UAVs and 48 air and ground-based missiles. The main direction of the Russian attack is Lviv region, Ternopil region, Kharkiv region.

Residential buildings were hit in Ternopil, in particular, the 3rd to 9th floors were destroyed in one of the high-rise buildings.
