State Emergency Service: in Kyiv, the number of victims due to the strike of the Russian Federation has increased to five

In Kyiv, according to the latest data, five people, including one child, were injured by a Russian strike on December 23, the State Emergency Service reported.

“Due to falling debris of the UAV, several 5-story buildings were damaged in the Svyatoshyn district of the city. “Rescuers dismantled the emergency structures of the damaged buildings,” the message reads.

Mayor Vitaly Klitschko specified that, in particular, one of the damaged buildings had a partially destroyed roof and a damaged facade.

Earlier, Kyiv authorities informed about three victims.

During the night, the Russian army massively attacked Ukraine with drones, and in the morning the Air Force reported the launch of missiles by Russia as well. An air alert was declared on the entire territory of Ukraine. In the morning of December 23, emergency power cuts were introduced in a number of regions of Ukraine.

At least three people are known to have died. Kyiv OVA provided data on the dead person and three victims in the region. In Zhytomyr Oblast, a child died due to an attack by the Russian Federation, five more people were injured, and a dead person was also reported in Khmelnytsky Oblast.

According to the government, energy facilities in the western regions were the most affected during the strike. The Ministry of Energy reported that consumers in Rivne, Ternopil, and Khmelnytskyi regions were almost completely cut off, as well as power cuts in Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions due to shelling.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
