State Emergency Service: a rescuer died in Donetsk region due to shelling by the Russian Federation, four more were injured in Kharkiv

On the morning of September 17, a rescuer was killed as a result of shelling by Russian troops on a village in the Pokrovsky district of Donetsk region, the State Emergency Service reported.

Also today, the Russian army hit Kharkiv with aerial bombs.

“At the moment, it is known about four rescuers who were injured – at the time of the attack, they were extinguishing a fire in a forest strip. Three workers are in serious condition,” the post reads.

Today, September 17, Ukraine celebrates the Savior’s Day.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine, 97 employees of the State Emergency Service were killed, 395 were injured, and four more are in Russian captivity.

The forces of the Russian Federation regularly attack Ukrainian regions, in particular, Kharkiv region, using various types of weapons – strike UAVs, missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
