Starlink will launch third -generation satellites in 2026 – speed will increase ten

Yevgeny Demkivsky Author of news Mezha.media and GIK. I write about technologies, cinema and games. Perhaps about games with a little more passion.

New equipment will be based on advanced computers, modems and rays, and will also work in lower orbits to reduce delays. One third -generation satellite will add up to 60 T tob/s of a third -generation on Starship – 20 times more than the current Falcon 9 missions.

Currently, the aggregate capacity of all active Starlink satellites reaches approximately 450 tbps. Over the last year, Starlink has added more than 2,300 satellites, expanded the coverage to 42 new countries and territories and increased the number of users to more than 6 million.

In the US, the average load speed of peak load reaches 200 Mbps, the delay – 25.7 ms. Less than 1% of measurements exceed 55 ms. Starlink also has the world’s largest ground infrastructure of satellite communications – more than 1500 antennas are deployed in the United States only on more than 100 objects.

The network continues to show high stability: the service remained available during mass power outages in Spain and Portugal, as well as supporting rescue operations after floods and forest fires in the US and Canada. Separate satellites are equipped with laser ducts for direct data transmission between devices without the participation of ground infrastructure.

By the end of 2025, Starlink plans to bring more than 400 satellites to polar orbits to improve the coating in Alaska and other high -decay regions.
