The Defense Forces of Ukraine are trying to prevent units of the Armed Forces from being encircled in the area of ​​Makarivka settlement near Velika Novosilka in Donetsk region. On December 24, Radio Svoboda (Svoboda.Ranok project) was told by the spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

“Currently, the defense forces of Ukraine are carrying out stabilization measures, trying to restore our positions, trying to prevent our forces from being surrounded, that’s why active defense is currently underway, a defensive operation is underway. Its consequences, its results will be known later… We are carrying out a stabilization operation there, trying to prevent our troops from being encircled or semi-encircled, so that the front line, the line of battle, is such that we can reach each unit, each of our “Union… to have a connection with him, to have logistical routes with him. The situation is quite difficult, but not hopeless. Our guys are holding on, trying to stop the enemy in this direction,” Voloshyn said.

Earlier this week, Ukrainian media reported that the settlement of Makarivka south of Velika Novosilka in Donetsk region is completely surrounded, citing a map by Deep State analysts.

This information was later denied in the operational and strategic management of the “Khortytsia” troops and reported that the information about the encirclement was not true.
