I know some of you really like squares. And square photos are a kind of legacy of Instagram. But at the moment, most of what is uploaded, both photos and videos, are in a vertical format
Also, the businessman added that “it is insulting to cut them excessively”.
Mosseri admits that such a change will not be immediately received positively by users.
I think in the long run, people will be thrilled to see more of their photos and more of their videos appear on their profile as intended, rather than being “aggressively” cropped
