Less than a day after publication, at least 16 files related to Jeffrey Epstein, including a photo with US President Donald Trump, disappeared from the website of the US Department of Justice.

Details: The publication notes that the government has not provided the public with any explanations or information on this matter.

AR writes that the missing files, which were available on Friday and not on Saturday, included images of naked women. Among them were photos of Trump next to Epstein, Melania Trump and Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

The Justice Department did not say why the files were deleted or whether it was done on purpose.

The inexplicable disappearance of the files has sparked speculation online about exactly what was deleted and why the public was not informed, adding to the longstanding intrigue surrounding Epstein and the influential people around him.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee drew attention to the missing photo with Trump in a post on the X Network: “What else is being covered up? The American public has a right to transparency.”

The episode deepened concerns that had already arisen following the long-awaited release of the documents by the Department of Justice.

Literally from the publication: “The tens of thousands of released pages did not reveal new information about Epstein’s crimes or prosecutorial decisions that allowed him to avoid serious federal charges for years, while leaving out some of the most interesting material, including FBI interviews of victims and internal Justice Department documents on charging decisions.”

Details: AR adds that several influential people long associated with Epstein, including Britain’s former Prince Andrew, are barely mentioned in the documents, which must be released under a law recently passed by Congress, raising questions about how much the disclosures really promote public accountability.

Among the files, the publication writes, were a series of previously unreleased photos of former President Bill Clinton, but very few photos of Trump. They were related to Epstein, but since then both have renounced this friendly relationship. None of them were charged with any wrongdoing related to Epstein, and there was no indication that the photos played any role in the criminal cases brought against him.

Prehistory:

The bill, which requires the US Department of Justice to make public all the materials of the investigation into the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, has been approved by the US Congress.

Trump announced that he had signed a bill requiring the Department of Justice to release all of its files related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

We will remind: Epstein committed suicide in a prison cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking to minors.

In recent months, Epstein’s case has gained special political weight in the United States, when evidence of a possible close relationship between the deceased and Donald Trump, which he publicly denies, appeared.
