The separate 155th mechanized brigade Anna of Kyiv continues to perform certain tasks in full force.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a comment by Interafx-Ukraine.
The department clarified that the brigade is performing tasks in the Pokrovsky direction.
“This is a newly created brigade that underwent training on the territory of France and acquires capabilities during hostilities, having its own brigade defense strip in the Pokrovsky direction,” the General Staff reported.
The General Staff also stated that even before the desertion scandal, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ordered an inspection of the situation, in particular, regarding a significant number of cases of voluntary desertion of a military unit.
The General Staff noted that measures are being taken to improve the discipline and psychological state of servicemen.
“This made it possible to reduce the number of cases of SZH. Currently, the units of the brigade are receiving additional equipment, the brigade has been reinforced with unmanned units,” the Armed Forces noted.
Earlier, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Mykhailo Drapatiy confirmed that part of the information about the problems in the 155th separate mechanized brigade of Anna Kyivska is true.
The day before, the editor-in-chief of Censor.NET, Yuriy Butusov, in an interview with Radio NV, stated that the newly created 155th brigade, around which a scandal broke out recently, was sent to fight in the Pokrovsky direction, without providing drones and EW devices, and after that they were removed from their positions its leadership, leaving it without management.
Butusov said that the scandal, which forced him to write about the problems in the 155th brigade, arose around December 4-5, when units of the 155th brigade began to arrive in the Pokrovsky direction, where the journalist was located.
The scandal surrounding the 155th brigade – what is known
On December 31, the editor-in-chief of Censor.Net Yuriy Butusov wrote about the problems of the 155th mechanized brigade of Anna Kyivska. According to him, before the first battle, 1,700 soldiers voluntarily left it, the commander was dismissed immediately after the battle, and one of the leaders responsible for the formation of the brigade died of a heart attack.
According to Butusov, the cost of creating a new brigade in France is estimated at 900 million euros. He claims that only during training abroad, at the stage of formation of the brigade, 50 servicemen voluntarily left it.
Communications adviser of the State Bureau of Investigation, Tetyana Sapyan, said that the SBI began investigating the data published by Butusov regarding the 155th mechanized brigade Anna Kyivska.
The case is being investigated under the articles of abuse of authority and desertion.
On January 5, Butusov reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyi took the situation around the 155th OMBr Anna Kyivska under personal control during the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander.
