Snow drifts and frost up to -11°C: extreme winter is already in the Carpathians

A real winter reigns in the Carpathian highlands — snowdrifts reach a meter, and the temperature has dropped below -10 °C. On Mount Pip Ivan, the height of the snow cover ranges from 20 to 90 cm. This is written by the head of the Chornohorsk search and rescue post on Mount Pip, Ivan Vasyl Fitsak, reports UNN.

Forecasters predict that the snow in Ukraine will last at least until the end of the week. Frosts of up to -5 °C are expected at night, and the temperature will rise to +5 °C during the day. In addition, they warn of ice and strong winds with gusts up to 15-20 m/s.
