“Slovakia plans to double the import of Russian gas through the Turkish Stream from the April Slovak Gas Plant SPP from February 1 began to import Russian gas through the Turkish Stream. Since April, it is planned to do the volume of deliveries due to a favorable price under the contract with Gazprom.”, – WRITE ON: Unn.ua

Ferenc did not specify what volumes were about, but noted that SPP has a valid contract with Gazprom, and the price for it is more profitable than the purchase of gas from other suppliers.
At the same time, according to the commercial director of the company Michal Zhalik, Slovakia will probably have to look for additional routes. The capacities of the Hungarian pipeline are not enough to fully provide internal consumption, so gas can be supplied through Germany and the Czech Republic.
In January, SPP was supplied to its consumers from gas storage facilities, and stocks still exceed the average compared to the usual for the current period.
Ferenc stressed that the main purpose of SPP is to provide adequate service to customers, but the problem is that alternative transportation routes are more expensive and the gas price is also increasing.
For example, gas price is currently 53 euros per megawatt per hour, below the price in December, before President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the cessation of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine.
This year, summer import prices are higher than in the winter months. This means that traders expect gas shortages in the markets in the summer months, when, according to the rules of the European Commission, the EU gas storage facilities must be filled in the winter heating season.
Recall
Earlier UNN He wrote that by the next winter, the European Commission wants natural gas storage in Europe 90%. At the same time, countries with the largest storage facilities, such as Germany, Italy, France and the Netherlands, have now begun unofficial negotiations on reducing the maximum storage capacity limit.
