After checks were carried out, in which the services in Lublin also participated – the threat was not confirmed and the alarm was canceled after almost an hour and a half.
The decision to activate the sirens was not made by the governor of the Lublin Voivodeship, who confirmed that his services did not issue a corresponding order.
According to RMF24, the District Crisis Center received a warning about a possible threat from another district.
At the same time, it is being investigated whether the sirens were activated as a result of disinformation.
This incident occurred against the background of a massive Russian attack on the regions of Ukraine, as a result of which Poland raised its aviation.
What happened before:
- Russia launched a combined attack on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine using attack UAVs, air-, sea-, and land-based missiles.
- In total, the radio-technical forces of the Air Force detected and escorted 704 air attack devices – 51 missiles (17 of them “ballistic”) and 653 UAVs of various types.
- The raising of aviation by Poland, and more recently also by Romania, has become a standard practice after the cases when the aerial targets with which the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine flew into the territory of neighboring countries.
