“The first thing we need to keep in mind is that Ukraine decides whether and what foreign troops can be in its territory, Ukraine and no one else. There are no negotiations yet. If Ukraine makes a security guarantee in the form of a foreign presence, the international community will decide in what form it can be. What is definitely not allowed is that Putin dictates who can or cannot be in Ukraine, ”Sikorsky said.
At the same time, Sikorsky called the issue of peacekeepers premature.
“We have no ceasefire yet, not to mention the peace that needs to be defended,” the Polish minister said, before explaining our position on a possible future peacekeeping mission.
On March 27, the leaders of 27 countries at the summit gathered in Paris to discuss the guarantees for Ukraine after a possible ceasefire, including the possible placement of “Coalition forces” on its territory.
French President Emmanuel Macron said the French-British military delegation would come to Ukraine in the near future. According to him, a delegation under the direction of the heads of the Armed Forces of both countries should determine the format of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in all spheres of land, air and sea, including the number of servicemen, the necessary equipment and structure.
President Macron also said that Western contingents in Ukraine, which offers a “Coalition of those” led by France and Britain, will not be placed on the collision line, but will operate in strategic points in a peaceful zone as a security forces.
