“Hungary has already paid a very high price for this war, which we have no relation to, so we want this war to end as soon as possible,” said the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
“(Putin. – Ed.) assured us that if there is a “peace summit”, it will undoubtedly take place in Budapest,” he added.
Szijjarto also said that Hungary succeeded in achieving another goal of the negotiations: Putin “assured Prime Minister Viktor Orbán that Russia will fulfill its contractual obligations to supply natural gas and oil in the agreed volumes.”
Before his trip to Putin, Orbán announced that he plans to provide Hungary with energy supplies for the winter and next year at an affordable price.
And at the meeting with the master of the Kremlin in Moscow, Orban once again expressed hope that Budapest will become a platform for peaceful negotiations regarding the war unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
