“Putin has no intention of ending this war – he is only trying to buy time. That’s why we need pressure, pressure and more pressure. The only thing that Putin understands””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga said that the approval of the 19th sanctions package by the European Union will be “an important signal of the strength and unity of the EU.”

“Putin has no intention of ending this war – he is only trying to buy time. That’s why we need pressure, pressure and more pressure. The only thing that Putin understands. Russia failed to achieve any significant results during its “summer offensive”, so it is trying to use winter as a weapon against Ukraine. Our energy system is subject to strong attacks,” he wrote on X’s social network after participating in a meeting of the EU Council on Foreign Relations.

The minister emphasized that this is why the strengthening of air defense and physical protection of energy facilities remain important, and the approval of the 19th sanctions package, which has every chance of becoming one of the most powerful, will be “an important signal of the strength and unity of the EU.”

Sybiga added that Kyiv also welcomes progress in the use of frozen Russian assets, including the so-called “Reparation Loan”.

This week, the EU is going to adopt the 19th package of sanctions, a meeting of EU leaders is scheduled for Thursday. Earlier it became known that Austria stopped blocking it, but Slovakia now retains the veto on the package.

According to the KMIS sociological survey, the majority of Ukrainians – 58% – believe that Europe continues to seriously help Ukraine and wants to end the war on fair terms, 36% – believe that Europe is tired and pushing for an unfair peace.
