Shostka was left without light, water and gas after Russian shelling – mayor

Shostka and a number of settlements of the Shostka community in Sumy region were left without light, water and gas as a result of the attack of the Russian Federation on October 4, the mayor of the city Mykola Noga reported.

“The electrical network was damaged, the water supply system was damaged, the gas supply system was damaged. There were two trains on the railway track, one had to go to Kiev … Two arrivals occurred, seven people were wounded, three of them have, ”the leg said.

The mayor urged to be in shelters because the Russian attack was ongoing. He also urged not to panic and stay. According to him, free hot food for children is organized because there is no light and gas.

“Families that are not able to provide a child with warm food, we invite you to contact the Shostka Children’s Hospital, today – from 17.00 to 20.00, tomorrow – from 8-00 to 12-00,” the leg wrote.

Subsequently, the Gazhmber Branch confirmed damage to gas distribution facilities and called for restriction of gas consumption of residents of a number of regions.

“In connection with the damage to the gas distribution station, as a result of shelling, we ask the residents of Schostka, Voronezh, Bogdan, Odorivka, Kovtunovo, Mironovka, Krupets and Shkirmanivka temporarily limit the consumption of natural gas,” the statement reads.

Earlier, it became known that the city of Shostka and part of the Shostka district in Sumy region were deactivated through Russian strikes on October 4, reported the head of the regional military administration Oleg Grigorov and Sumyoblenergo.

“Due to the army of the Russian Federation on the critical infrastructure of Sumy region, the city of Shostka and partly Shostka district were deactivated today. Energy are working on the restoration of power supply, ”the Oblenergo said.

According to the authorities, at least eight people have been hospitalized in Shostka after today’s Russian blow to two passenger trains. Earlier, President Zelensky reported about dozens of victims.

According to Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, about 30 people were injured in the city of Shostka, as a result of the impact of the Russian Federation at the railway station and passenger trains in Sumy region.
