Oleg Gudyma was appointed to the position of the head of the State Security Service in the Cherkasy region in April 2024. Prior to that, he headed the Darnytsia Police Department in Kyiv for several years.
On January 27, it became known that four policemen were killed in Cherkasy region, and another was injured during the arrest of a murder suspect.
Later, in a comment to Suspilny, the head of the Main Department of the National Police in the region, Oleg Gudyma, said that the dead suspect is a local resident, a 59-year-old former military serviceman, who was suspected of involvement in an assassination attempt in December 2025 in the Korsun district.
