Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with the heads and representatives of the foreign policy departments of the countries of Southeast Europe discussed the strengthening of sanctions against Russia, the confiscation of frozen assets and the integration of Ukraine into the EU and NATO.

As reported by Ukrinform, Shmyhal announced this on Facebook.

“I greeted in Kyiv our friends from Moldova, Slovenia, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, Montenegro. He noted the importance of today’s adoption of the Joint Communiqué, in which the participating countries condemn Russia’s full-scale aggression, support the EU sanctions regime against the Russian Federation, participate in the implementation of the provisions of the Peace Formula and actively support Ukraine in international organizations,” the message reads.

During the dialogue, Shmyhal announced the government’s priority areas of work. These are defense, reconstruction (in particular demining and energy protection), integration into the EU and NATO.

“Considerable attention was paid to the European integration progress of Ukraine. For us, the gained experience of countries that have already passed the path to full membership in the EU is very valuable. It is also important to strengthen the cooperation of the countries with access to the Black Sea. He thanked the states for supporting Ukraine’s movement into NATO. He proposed to strengthen our interaction, in particular in the format of joint intergovernmental consultations, as well as through involvement in restoration projects,” Shmyhal emphasized.

The Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and Albania entered into force today. The Prime Minister welcomed the official opening of the embassy of this country.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, during the meeting in the “Ukraine – South-Eastern Europe” format, emphasized that Ukraine insists on a just peace based on the UN Charter and territorial integrity.
