“There are many differences between us, but we are all united by a common goal: through a peaceful struggle to change the regime of corrupt criminals who rob the people, to release unjustly imprisoned writers, doctors, students, actors and politicians, to save the independence and statehood of Georgia and to establish its place in our natural historical bosom – the Euro-Atlantic space,” the appeal reads.

The political forces also promised to “fight to the end” to return power to the Georgian people.

The joint appeal came after Georgia’s prosecutor’s office charged eight opposition figures, including Mikheil Saakashvili, with conspiring to overthrow the government and assisting foreign states in hostile activities.

Before that, the ruling party “Georgian Dream” filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court with the demand to ban three opposition parties: “National Movement”, “Strong Georgia – Lelo”, “Coalition for Changes”.
