“More than 5 200 square meters of dry grass and shrubs burned out during the day in the region,” the department said.
According to the service, in total six fires occurred in the villages of Opora, Voloshch, Ulichne and Naguyevichi of Drohobych district, huts of Sambir district and Dashava of Stryi district.
The fire “not only destroyed all living in these territories, but also created a real threat to the surrounding homes,” adds SES.
Rescuers are reminded that the fire is spreading, and they are urged to comply with safety rules.
At the end of January, the SES reported the elimination of 10 fires with a total area of more than 5 900 square meters.
