Security guarantees will 100% prevent any aggression in the future-Yermak

Presidential Office Head Andriy Yermak reported March 11 on the results of US-Ukrainian negotiations in Jedda, which is considered different options that should prevent any aggression against Ukraine in the future.

“We have considered different options. They are really different on the table. Since these consultations, these negotiations are still ongoing, I would not like to talk about some specific today, because we really talked about different options today, but these are exactly those guarantees that will 100% prevent any aggression in the future. We have quite bad experience of all Budapest Memoranda, Minsk Agreements, which, unfortunately, did not give us any guarantees. And this full -scale aggression happened, ”Yermak said.

The head of the Presidential Office stressed that US partners understand that Ukraine is needed. In addition, safety guarantees with different countries are considered.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron called on European countries and NATO to develop a plan for “Defining Reliable Guarantees of Security” for Ukraine in case of ceasefire.

On Tuesday, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, speaking at a press conference during his visit to Kosovo, noted that security guarantees should be discussed when details of a peace agreement would be known.

On March 11, Saudi Arabia was held in Saudi and the United States in Saudi Arabia. Presidential head Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Deputy Head of OP Pavlo Palis took part on the Ukrainian side. From the United States: Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Michael Voltz and Special Representative of the US President for the Middle East Stephen Witcoff.

During the negotiations, Ukraine agreed with the proposal of the US side to introduce a ceasefire regime in the war with Russia for 30 days. The delegations also discussed the importance of humanitarian efforts as part of the peace process, in particular during the ceasefire regime, including the exchange of prisoners of war, the dismissal of retained civilians and the return of forced Ukrainian children.

As a result of the meeting, the United States “immediately cancel the intelligence pause and restore security assistance to Ukraine.”
