The vessel under the flag of the Comoros Islands was moving in the exclusive economic zone of Ukraine in the direction of the Novorossiysk port terminal. It was going full throttle with the transponder off.
Literally: “As a result of the attack, the tanker suffered critical damage. The video shows powerful explosions in the stern area. According to preliminary information, the vessel is out of order.”
Details: They specified that it was a joint operation of the 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU and the Navy of Ukraine.
According to our sources, the estimated cost of such a tanker is $30 million, and for 1 voyage it transported approximately $60 million worth of oil products.
Due to the transportation of Russian raw materials and high-risk shipping (with the identification system disabled), the Dashan was previously sanctioned by the EU, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and Switzerland.
An informed interlocutor in the SBU reported that this is the third decommissioned tanker of the “shadow fleet”, which helped the Kremlin circumvent international sanctions.
We will remind, on November 29 Sea Baby was hit by two sanctioned oil tankers Kairo and Virat in the Black Sea.
